So that’s a question I’m often asked: what is best time to workout ? It may seem strange and yet it is beautiful and very relevant when you want to start or resume sport.

Several mechanisms come into play depending on the time at which we practice our favorite sports activity. Many factors can influence choice of time and that’s what I explain to you in this article. And you, rather team morning or team evening?

In reality, no need to worry. Each sports schedule has its pros and cons. Although some assure you of amazing results depending on the time of day, the truth is that there are no secrets.

The only way to achieve your goals, whatever they may be, is consistency.

Any time, if you’re used to it and it’s perfect for you, then congratulations, you’ve found it. the best time to exercise.

But there are still differences between morning, afternoon and eveningI tell you more!

Exercise in the morning

In the morning, it’s not always easy. The body wakes up slowly and the organism needs time to resume all the activities and functions that it put on hold during the night.

That said, sport is a great way to wake up the body and mind. On top of that, there are plenty of other benefits to practicing sports activity in the morningas :

  • Promote physical and mental awakening : by doing your workout in the morning, you stimulate your biological clock and you force your body to wake up and resume all its functions. You will then be much more in shape and focused, even before your coffee.
  • Increase your productivity : it is logical, the more you are awake, the more you are concentrated and therefore, the more you are productive during the day.
  • Promote regularity : demotivation, problems of all kinds or drinks between colleagues, during the day, the unforeseen are numerous and can easily make you miss your session. By favoring an early morning schedule, you will have fewer unpleasant surprises and you will be able to train in complete peace of mind, at your own pace.
  • Improve the quality of your sleep : Doing a sporting activity is tiring, but it also wakes up the brain. As a result, doing your sport late may make it more difficult for you to sleep.

Of course, this will all depend on you. After all, not all of us are early risers and waking up can be extremely complicated for some. There are also many personal constraints that can prevent morning exercise.

Finally, motivation is another essential factor.

If you don’t take pleasure in training in the morning, there’s no point in forcing it, it’s even counterproductive.

In short, the most important thing is to find the way you prefer to train and the one that will allow you greater regularity.

Exercise in the afternoon

If you’re looking at performance, afternoon sports is ideal.

This is when your body is in the best shape. It’s warm, toned and ready for any type of physical exercise.

It’s also a great way tooptimize your time if it is done during the lunch break or to free oneself from the tensions accumulated at the end of the day. On the other hand, it is much more delicate to set up in its weekly routinebecause it requires good organization.

Prepare your meals the night before, finish work early enough, have no family obligations or sacrifice a few moments of sharing with friends or colleagues.

Exercising in the evening

Exercising in the evening is a good alternative if you can’t do it after work. The benefits remain the same, it will allow you to unwind from your day andeliminate all stress accumulated.

On the other hand, it is a somewhat restrictive niche, because the activity must be done away from meals, but also from bedtime. Otherwise, you risk disturbing your sleep and feeling significant digestive discomfort.

It is therefore best to practice a gentle activity, such as yoga or stretching, for example. Otherwise, all you have to do is become an ace of organization.

Many clubs / associations offer adult sport in the evening. So don’t worry, carry on if you like it and it’s the only slot for you.

Just make sure that this activity does not prevent you from falling asleep. If you sleep well right after: no problem!!! CONTINUE!

When is the best time to exercise to lose weight?

Is there a optimal time to lose fat ? To this question, many will tell you:

“in the morning of course and on an empty stomach to lose even more calories!”.

I may be disappointing more than one, but it is totally false.

You won’t lose more fat by getting up at 5 a.m. to run than by going to the gym at 7 p.m.

The truth is that time is just a detail which will not bring you really significant results. No, the real good method is to train seriously, quite simply.

Only regularity will make you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. And this rigor implies create a routine when you have time to devote to yourself. We all have to deal with our already busy schedules and certain other priorities.

Let’s not add even more difficulties by imposing schedules that do not suit us and that we will not be able to hold over time. Sport should above all be there to decompress and de-stress you.

Have fun, the results will appear by themselves.

And when you can’t? Apply neat (Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis). It’s no use blaming yourself.

By adopting a few good habits with everyday gestures, you will be more active and you will increase your energy expenditure much more than you can imagine.

When is the best time to exercise for bodybuilding?

Several studies have shown a correlation between body temperature and muscle strength.

The higher the temperature of the body, the more it will be able to deploy great muscular force. Today, it has also been proven that the hottest time of day is late afternoon, peaking at 4 p.m.

We can therefore very logically deduce that the best time to do bodybuilding is between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with a good warm-up!

That said, if it’s the perfect time, it’s not going to allow you to lift 10 times your weight. All you can gain from it is perhaps better sensations.

What would be the most optimal time?

You want to get into the sport, but you are a little lost? Even if it is not what will determine your results, it is a reality, the body is more able to provide certain efforts under certain conditions.

This goes back to what I said a little earlier about the pros and cons of each niche:

For stamina

you have to get your metabolism used to mobilizing your fat reserves to always go further. For that, the best time is in the morning when your metabolism, which was dormant until then, gradually resumes its functions.

It will therefore be more receptive to an endurance effort in the morning, even if it does not promise you to run the marathon so soon. Be careful not to do too intense sessions and be sure to hydrate yourself well. Otherwise the risk of injury increases.

For strength

muscle strength is at its peak in the late afternoon, between 4 and 6 p.m. This does not mean that you will explode your performance at this time, but that your body will be able to exceed its limits more easily.

For long-lasting pleasure

The best time to train is yours!

This choice is yours. There would be no better conclusion than this to answer this question. You know your body better than anyone, so trust yourself, experiment and find the times that are best for you!

The golden rule is toincorporate physical activity into your daily life to relax and have a good time that belongs only to you. The biggest mistake you could make is turning this moment into a chore.

There’s no point in exercising every day or forcing yourself to get up at 5 a.m. if it doesn’t suit you.

You will end up not enjoying it and you will find it difficult to achieve your goals.

Results ?

We give up, we don’t feel capable and we stop everything. So to stay motivated, don’t worry too much. Stay consistent in your efforts and everything will be fine.
